NetXploreIt provides a terminal interface by embedding the operating system’s terminal window within the “User client”. To access the terminal, click the “>_” icon. A separate tab will be added and you will be presented with your operating system’s command line prompt (MacOS will open shell terminal, and Windows will open PowerShell prompt). You can add as many tabs as required.

You can access your devices through direct IP connectivity between the workstation running “User client” and the network device you need to access. Note that this is different and independent from the connection between the “User client” and the “NetXploreIT Server”. You can use this terminal functionality without logging in to the server.
Otherwise, you can use this terminal client to SSH to NetXploreIt (Ubuntu) server, and once logged in, you can either telnet or ssh to your intended device. The user account used here should be created directly on the server, and is independent from user accounts created for the NetXploreIt application. Also, note that in this case, no direct connection is required between the workstation (client) and the remote device, however, NetXploreIt server here acts as a Jump-Server. Please refer to Ubuntu documentation for managing user accounts.
To copy text to e.g the Notes tab, select the required text by highlighting it using the mouse, then copy using the “Edit” menu or the keyboard shortcut. You can then paste to required destination.
You can choose one of three color themes for the terminal using the menu: “NetXploreIt Client” > “Settings” > “Terminal Theme”. A dialogue box will appear where you can specify your preferred theme.
